Drill Press

Purpose: The drill press is used to make perpendicular holes.

Safety Instructions:

• Wear safety glasses.

• Wear fitted clothing. Confine long hair.

• Use a clamp or Drill Vise to prevent the workpiece from spinning.

• Adjust the table height for the piece you are trying to drill.

• Use the chuck key to loosen and tighten a drill bit into the head of the machine.

• NEVER LEAVE THE CHUCK KEY IN THE DRILL HEAD.

• Be sure to mark out where the center of the hole will be.

• Align the center mark with the point of the drill bit.

• Use a sacrificial board if drilling through the workpiece.

• Turn on the machine and use the handle to drop the drill bit into the workpiece.

• DO NOT APPLY EXCESSIVE FORCE.

• If you need to stop drilling, shut the machine off, and wait for the bit to stop moving.

• Keep the floor and table around the machine clear and clean.
